Experiment.

I want to perform a little experiment.

Pick the odd man out from the picture below. It's not meant to be a trick question and spend less than 20 seconds on your answer. (Click on the polling widget in the right sidebar)

  1. I don't know any of them by name, but my vote is for the one in the lower middle.

    Go Rat Pack!

Black guy (Sammy Davies) in the middle was the first thought (bastard, you want to see that)

Guy on right has no tie.

Sammy converted to Judaism, and Joey Biship was already a Jew.

Peter Lawford was the only non-native born American

I picked Peter Lawford because he was the only non-native-born American. Was I right? Or did I miss something?

  5. I went with Joey Bishop (as I believe he's the one on the far right which is what I intended).

He's the only one without a coat and, as someone has pointed out, a tie.

The fact that too many people, men and women, dress like children anymore has been a big issue for me since a George Will column in 2001. Stuff like that stands out for me.

I guess, thinking while I wrote this post, he's also the most metrosexual in the bunch: sweater style instead of a coat and tie like a man.

  7. I'd pick Lawford - he was the only one who wasn't a stage performer - the others were singers or in Bishop's case a stand-up comedian.

  8. Sammy Davis Jr.

    For the obvious reason.

He is the only one sitting down.

Just by the photo it has to be the guy on the right. The rest look strong, confident and assertive. He looks like his mom dressed him.

Obviously the African American during a time period when T.V./photography was in black and white.

The guy wearing a cardigan with no tie can also be considered odd.
